5 Simple Tips To start Your Morning Happy :)

Just like many of you, I used to dread mornings, and I hated 8 o’clock classes more than anything. It’s definitely hard getting out of a cozy bed in the morning but we have to do it. Since there’s a no way out, and we have to do it anyway, why can’t we make this process more bearable and actually enjoy it? Yup that’s what I am talking about! Lets’ have some fun and do what we need to do! 🙂

Sharing some tips on how to become a morning person:

  1. Make a routine– Try to get up around the same time every morning. This is extremely important because first thing is to have the motivation to get up. So you have to make a decision and a plan to wake up whatever time that works for you or goes with your schedule, and STICK to it. Consistency is the key guys! Be consistent with your morning routine because just like anything it’s a habit and trust me because in a few days it will become a second nature to you. Another thing that’s helped me the most is going to bed early. When you get enough rest and sleep throughout the night even your body will be naturally ready to wake up in the morning.
  2. Drink some water- Drinking water first thing in the morning helps to wake you up and energize your body. Personally, I can’t even move without drinking some water in the morning. So I make sure to have a bottle of water beside my bed the night before. I am more likely to drink the water if it’s available to me and this will just speed up the process of getting up.. Also, open up the windows and curtains to get some natural light in. Natural light has such an amazing effect on our mind and body that it will  definitely help to wake you up.
  3. Quick stretch or work out- Depending on your schedule work out or quickly stretch your body . I know it can be really hard for some of you to make some time for a work out in the morning but at least try to do some exercise, it doesn’t have to be an intense work out because even a simple stretch can help your body working and take you a long way.
  4. Optimism and Set intentions– Think some positive and happy thoughts along with setting the intentions and goals  for the day. If you know me then you know how strong I am about having a positive attitude. Yes, it works all the time and having some positive affirmations for the day will help you to have a positive day because “Either you run the day or the day will run you.” So try to control your thoughts and fill your mind with optimism.
  5. Healthy Breakfast: Finally, treat yourself with some super yummy healthy and delicious breakfast. As we may have all heard that breakfast is one of the most important meal of the day, there’s so much truth to it. It is so vital to nourish your body with proper nutrients before you get ready for the day and start working because you don’t want to get distracted with your stomach growling while you are concentrated on your work. So make sure your breakfast consists of proper carbs, proteins, vitamins, and minerals.

3 Reasons Why I Became Vegan!!

Happy Monday folks! 🙂

Hope you all had a great weekend and now ya’ll are ready for a new kickass week! I have something personal to share this week!

After being an on-and-off vegetarian my whole life, I decided to go vegan this summer. What??? Yes people!! I am a newbie vegan 🙂 and nope, this is not a trend, it just fits with my lifestyle.

First, let me start by explaining what veganism or vegan means. Basically, someone who is vegan, does not consume any animal products. It is actually one step further than vegetarianism. Personally, it was an easy transition for me because the only animal product I was consuming were eggs.

I have done a lot of reading and seen a ton of documentaries on Netflix after I decided to be a vegan. Everything I read or saw helped me to justify my decision, and made sense to me. Additionally, I absolutely love being vegan. It has lifted my spirit in many ways and has added so much to my wellness.

Lately, I have been getting a lot of….why vegan?  So, I wanted to summarize it in 3 points below:

  • I am passionate about Healthy Lifestyle– I have always been passionate about a healthier lifestyle, and veganism for me is not just a diet, it’s a lifestyle. There are so many health benefits of being vegan but you have to make sure you get proper amount of vitamin D and B12. I have always been a foodie, so I eat anything and everything but animal products. Do not get me wrong because you don’t have to be a vegan to be healthy. There are so many ways to be healthier. This is just something that fits with my lifestyle and I love it. 🙂
  • I love Animals– Growing up, I took animals for granted and I wish I could change that but my love for animals is growing more everyday. I think animals are the honest and pure souls and I have been able to emotionally bond with them. While I love all animals, dogs are my favorite and I hope to get one in near future.
  • For the environment and the planet– It is true that the number one cause of CO2 emission, pollution, water waste and, deforestation is cattling, also with the population growth, the increasing demand of meat and animal products has forced the industries to treat animals like machineries in order to meet the requirements. Additionally, it has been found that if we could not have to feed the livestock, we could feed two planets. So, it totally makes sense to me as the old saying goes, “be the change that you wish to see in the world”. And, I’ve been enjoying every second of cruelty-free life. 🙂

5 Simple Tips For A Healthy Lifestyle!

Happy Monday Friends,

Hope you all had a great weekend!

This post is specially for all my friends and families who personally reached out to me for Fitness tips. My fitness journey actually began with a lifestyle change! My goal wasn’t to lose weight, it was actually to become a healthier and happier version of myself. This approach helped me to love what I was doing and I absolutely enjoyed the process.

I highly recommend you all to not focus on the number such as your weight instead think about the bigger picture of you becoming healthier and happier and this will make the whole process more enjoyable and more importantly it will end up being your lifestyle.

  1. Cut out processed food, eat more natural and healthier foods such as greens, fruits, vegetables, nuts, and grains.
  2. Replace soda with tea or coffee, as they are rich in antioxidants whereas soda only consists of empty calories.
  3. Drink more water, drinking water is the most efficient way to get energized and it also helps with the weight loss.
  4. Find an exercise you love. Find something that you enjoy, it could be walking, jogging, running, dancing, or yoga. Just figure out what works for you and do it repeatedly.
  5. Get enough sleep! Getting proper rest helps with your metabolism and proper hormone regulation. So make sure you have a stable sleep-wake cycle!

Collect Moments, Not Things!! :)

Bhupen and I are very spontaneous by nature! Part of it is cause we are young and I am sure it will change as we get older so I believe it’s a good thing that we are living our age now. When we woke up Monday morning, we were just chitchatting about the places that we haven’t been to. So turns out we are only left with Hawaii, Oregon, Colorado, Niagra Falls, and Chicago within the US. After finding out Chicago was only about 8 hours drive away from WV, we looked at each other and we were like why the heck we haven’t explored Chicago yet? And, few minutes later we are on the road to Chicago.

Bhupen drove and I started looking up the places we wanted to see. Thanks to ‘hoteltonight.com’ that I was also able to book a room for the night! In the tip of my fingers everything was done- booked a place, found out where we were going and eating the next day! Perks of living in the era of technology. 🙂

So, if you are in Chicago even just for a day don’t forget to checkout the following places:

  1. The Bean, masterpiece of Chicago is in the park in downtown area.
  2. Sky Deck at Willis Tower, you get to experience the breathtaking view of the city from 103 rd floor.
  3. Navy Pier also has the wonderful view of the lake and the city! It’s so dreamy!

In between seeing these places we had enough time to enjoy lovely breakfast, delicious lunch, and yummy snacks. After Sun basking and relaxing at the park in the Pier area, we left for home! It’s one of the shortest and sweetest trips I ever had.

I am not sure where we are going next! But I can’t waittttt! Like the old saying goes ‘Traveling is the only thing you buy that makes you richer”make sure you travel as often as you can because YOLO!!!

Have a great week Lovelies!!! XOXO

Laters, Summer!!

It’s hard to believe that summer 2017 has come to an end. As sad as I am to bid goodbye to Summer, I am just as excited for Autumn and has so many ideas and plans to celebrate everyday this Fall.

However, this summer was pretty special to me. From traveling to West Coast and spending endless hours at the library to study for my MCAT, I have learned so much about this world, and myself. This summer has left me breathless, got me feeling exhilarated and never have I appreciated life or loved myself more.

Ended my summer at the beachhh 🙂
Beachinnnn……As much as I love gazing into the ocean, nothing beats walking into the boardwalk so I had to wear my converse!!
Life is better at the Beach Expression 🙂
Spent majority of summer at Starbucks, sipping into iced lattes, dreaming a lot, reading a bit, studying little more, and working little less!

Actually, started my summer with a kick ass hiking trip to Zion National Park, UT!! Those mountains are absolutely amazing. There’s nothing quite like it. Everyone should go and experience these mountains! Btw, that’s my Bollywood pose…trynna take Bollywood pose to the next level! haha 🙂

Collecting moments 🙂

So friends, I hope your summer was as great as mine or even more exciting!!! Next summer will be right around the corner even before we know it! So, I wish you all a joyful Autumn! Stay Happy always 🙂

Love, xoxo

Travel To Nourish Your Soul

Happy Sunday Guys! It’s just gloomy and rainy today so I decided to look at the pictures from my recent trip to West Coast to brighten my day. It not only made my day a lot better but also made me realize what I had learned on this trip. Actually, this trip wasn’t just a trip, it was an Adventure. Adventure, that touched my every sense and pleased my soul!!

So I made a list of things that I learned to share with you guys! Hope it gives you a differernt perspective and inspires you to pack your bags and go somewhere new!! 🙂

  1. Learned to Live in the moment: When I was traveling, I was busy enjoying what was around me without worrying about anything else. This boosted my happiness and it has encouraged me to be fully present in the moment.
  2. Gained a new outlook on life- Seeing new places and meeting new people truly helped me to understand the size of this vast earth that we all share. I have now started to think outside of the box and perceive more about my own life and the lives of others.
  3. Enhanced my Creativity- Visiting all the famous landmarks has inspired me and opened up my mind. I learned more creative ways to take pictures, was finally able to use the different features that came with my camera which I seriously think I would have never explored that part if I hadn’t gone to this trip.
  4. Stepped out of my comfort zone- As you know traveling can be challenging sometimes and I personally think that challenging is absolutely good for the soul. When I went to Zion national Park, I had no idea how strenuous the hike to top of Angel’s Landing Trail was. It was a 4 hours steep uphill trail with no support. You could only hold onto chains. I looked around, everyone was doing it so I pushed myself out of my comfort zone and completed the trail. Made it through the chains, made it to the top, and most importantly I conquered my fear of heights.
  5. Recharged emotionally- Throughout my trip, I was so happy. I was happy because my mind was off from the things that needed to be done and instead I was in touch with nature, the beautiful mountains, canyons, ocean shorelines, falls etc. I genuinely felt like my mind, body, and soul were aligned together.
Have a fabulous Sunday and a great week ahead!! 🙂

Push-Ups: You can do it too!

I have always been physically active throughout my life but the more I adult, the more I realize that our true strength lies in our heart and soul and not just in our muscles. We can look great from outside but if we are failing to do so from inside, it’s not worth it. Because feeling good from inside is pretty  UHhhhmazing!!!

So, changing my outlook towards life and focusing internally to become a better version of myself was the best decision I ever made. I always try to push my limits and challenge myself. In return, I feel happy and strong internally. Last year, I challenged myself to do push-ups! Because Like most women, I always got intimidated by them and here’s how I overcame my intimidation.

The Beginning: Modified Version

Since I was not able to support my body weight, I started performing push-ups on any elevated surface such as chair, table etc. Even with that modification, I was only able to do 5-10 reps. It was pretty discouraging but I didn’t give up. Gradually, I was able to perform 3 sets of modified push ups (my own version, on any elevated surface 🙂

Then, I dared to do the real deal, ‘Standard Push-Ups’. It took me 2 months to do 20 standard push-ups. Now, I can easily do 2-3 sets of standard push-ups and support my body weight.

So, if you want to get started and challenge yourself with push-ups and feel good and strong internally start Today and Now is the right time! Remember, not to push yourself too hard either. Always set attainable and realistic goals which will make you feel satisfied internally at the end!

Happy Sunday! Hope you all have a great week ahead! 🙂
